Key to club facilities
- Warm welcome. All EBU clubs listed here have committed to maintaining a friendly atmosphere and welcoming players of all levels.
- Hosting provided. This means you can turn up without a partner. Some clubs ask for 24 hours notice, so we encourage you to check the club website for full details.
- Online. Online play is offered regularly, so you can play with a computer or tablet from home.
- Face to Face. Sessions are held at a club venue for traditional face-to-face bridge.
- Trained directors. The director is the person who supervises a bridge session. These clubs have directors who are qualified club directors having attended EBU-approved training and assessment.
- Refreshments. Hot and cold drinks are available. Often there is a small extra charge, or in some clubs a full bar.
- Teaching offered. This means the club can teach you bridge even if you have no experience whatsoever.
- Gentle bridge offered. This means the club runs some sessions aimed at novices. Help will be available and the pace of play will be slower than at standard club sessions.
- Computer dealt. Hands are dealt by computer. This means you don't need to do any dealing, and hands are available to see after the game, usually on a website.
- Daytime sessions. These clubs offer some sessions in the afternoon rather than the evening.
- Evening sessions. These clubs offer some sessions in the evening, so you can go after work.
Note that ALL our clubs give you the opportunity to win master points and to track your bridge progress via our National Grading Scheme.
